Refreshing, Touchy and visibility great

The 2015 Mitsubishi ASX is something I would consider buying myself if I was in the market for a small suv
The car is Refreshing as it has a digital radio in this cars stereo, sure it lacks gps but I can live with this as every phone has maps these days which we prefer anyways
Accerator is very touchy one little touch and you are on the speed limit and a little bit more on the floor on take of she spins at the front wheels and moves quick which was good when I accidentally cut of a cop car 😬
But it does 0-100 in a estimated 10.5 seconds but I believe it could get there in under 10 with its great acceleration
The mirrors are huge which is great for seeing your blind spots and love how the mirrors move to the side when you lock the car and when you unlock it goes back to position
Mitsubishi has built this car with the consumer in mind instead of guessing what they want Mitsubishi have built the car everyone wants
Engine noise is a bit loud which if you like quiet you won’t like but for someone like me who likes loud music not a problem at all
I don’t like how the average fuel level can change at a moments notice it’s hard to get a average fuel reading but eventually I got one
Aircondioning works and mostly easy to use except for the missing temperature switch as Mitsubishi has removed it to have a climate control which automatically sets a temperature they “say” works for everyone (I disagree)
It looks outdated as it hasn’t had a proper upgrade since it’s launch in 2010 but unique and stands out for the right reasons
The major functions are there and it’s simple to use and with the huge mirrors it’s easy to Manoeuver around the suburbs of Melbourne making instant decisions easily because you can see what’s around you easily while other cars it’s hard as the small mirrors mean you can’t see what’s around and your either cutting people or or unsure always as you can’t see
Mitsubishi small cars are always good quality and if I was looking for a small suv I would definitely consider this car as Mitsubishi small cars have a unique charm which seems to captivate me as they build good cars which last (excluding the Pajero)
Fuel economy is where it might lose points as it was drinking around on average 10.3 litres per 100 but that was city driving with no highways if I went country driving I would get to 8 litres per hundred
If you asked me ten years ago about the small suv range I would say it wouldn’t last I mean we have wagons which work for our moving lifestyles and we don’t want small stuff we love our v6 and v8s and we only want big suvs such as Landcruaers and Pajero but today with Aussie built ford and Holden disappearing and the public demanding small, fuel efficient cars but with the height of a four wheel drive we now have stacks of small suvs which are dominating the market while station wagons are becoming a thing of the past the small, fuel efficient, slow, suv is here to say (for the time being)
But honestly id prefer the wagons which you will see in my next review why I say that
So after reviewing both the ASX and the Qashqai in my last review I can see how people in suburbs can enjoy these cars as your can fit so much (not as much as a wagon), the ride height is a big charm, fuel efficiency is a big must these days while power is comprised but who really needs to tow anything bigger than a 6x4 and to be 0-100 in under 8 seconds (unless you are a rev head like me)
The Qashqai is a fuel efficient flashy looking simple car which if you want gps to be integrated in the car, the latest looks, better fuel economy, and the abibly to control how hot or cold you want the inside of your car to be and extra space to take the kids or pick up large items then the Nissan Qashqai is for you
But I did say the Qashqai did lack personality, a unique vibe and something just wasn’t right about it which I couldn’t put my finger on until I drove the asx
The ASX has a outdated look but it is great for driving through the busy suburbs with its big mirrors you can change lanes with ease, you can get decent sound am&fm radio through digital radio and great acceration
They both will get you from point a to point b and can change from 2 wheel front wheel drive to all wheel drive at the push of a button, both I drove where two litre four cylinders but the asx is a better ride even with its nosy engine, lack of gps (unless you have apple CarPlay) and the inability of controlling the temperature
The asx has that unique vibe the Qashqai can’t deliver it has something that makes it unique with the digital radio the climate control makes it not blend it like the Qashqai it was more fun to drive and sure it drinks more petrol and doesn’t have as much room but it has that extra punch to navigate city traffic.
